Diesel DZ3000 series

The Diesel watch model series ranging from DZ3000 to DZ3999 is an interesting category. Although Diesel is best known for its massive “Big Daddy” models (often starting with DZ7), the models in the DZ3xxx range typically fall under the more refined, yet still rugged, collections for both men and women.

The models in this series often deviate from the standard round, oversized watches. Most watches in this specific range share the following basic characteristics:
Movement:
Almost exclusively Japanese-made quartz (battery-powered) movements (often Miyota).
Material:
Stainless steel case. Straps range from high-quality leather to steel link bracelets.
Glass:
Mineral glass (scratch-resistant, but not indestructible).
Water resistance:
Usually 3 ATM (splash-proof) to 5 ATM (shower-proof). They are rarely intended for swimming or diving.

Since the DZ3xxx models have been around for some time, many of these models are now out of the official collection (“discontinued”). This means that they:

• Are often found on the secondhand market or at specialized watch outlets.
• Are sought after by collectors of the “classic” Diesel style from the early 2000s and 2010s, when the brand was still experimenting more with asymmetrical shapes.
